Order of Service Booklet

A precious keepsake as well as functional way to follow the flow of the service. At Grace Funerals we like to work with our client families to design the perfect booklet for your loved one. If they have a passion, hobby, favourite place that they like to go, colour that they loved or anything else that you would like to feature on the booklet we can design that for you and assist in making the booklet as personalised as possible.

A couple of examples are below:

DVD / Photo Story Tributes

Our personalised Photo Stories are designed specifically for your family and with your loved one in mind. We will ask you about your loved one, collect photos from you and select the song that represents your loved one the most.

Music

Music is a key memory trigger and the sounds of a song that was shared with your loved one can bring back many happy memories. Selecting the music for your service is a chance for you and your family to listen to the songs of your shared history and select what you think will bring back the best memories on the day.

In selecting the music you might want to select a favourite song alternatively you may prefer to select a song that reflects how you feel or something you might have wanted to say.

Each service is different however below are the common times in a service to play music:

  • Arrival Music – this is played to signify the start of a service.
  • Reflection Time / Photo story – this is during the service and can be a time when you place a flower, watch the DVD photo story or simply listen to a song and reflect on your loved ones life.
  • Recessional Music – this is the final song when you are leaving the service.
  • For a burial, there is also an opportunity to have music played at the graveside.

Everyone has their own unique musical taste, however if you a looking for a little inspiration, please see the below list as a possible starting place:

  • My Way – Frank Sinatra.
  • Time to Say Goodbye – Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli
  • Wind Beneath My Wings – Bette Midler
  • Over the Rainbow – Judy Garland or Israel ‘IZ’ Kamakawiwo’ole
  • Angels – Robbie Williams
  • You Raise Me Up – Josh Groban
  • You’ll Never Walk Alone – Gerry & The Pacemakers
  • We’ll Meet Again – Vera Lynn
  • Unforgettable – Nat ‘King’ Cole
  • In the Arms of an Angel – Sarah McLaughlin
  • Mull of Kintyre – Various
  • Hallelujah – Jeff Buckley
  • What a Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong
  • Here I Am Lord – Daniel O’Donnell
  • Make Me a Channel of your Peace – Daniel O’Donnell
  • Ave Maria – Sarah Brightman
  • The Lord’s My Shepherd – Harry Secombe
  • Forever Young – Youth Group
  • Fly – Celine Dion

Memorial Books

A memorial book is a way that your family and friends can leave their signature and a short message to you to let you know that they were there with you on the day. You might find that the period leading up to the funeral and the actual day itself become a blur and it can be difficult to accurately remember who was in attendance.

Photos

Photos are an important part of any funeral service and can be used for the order of service booklets, book marks, photo stories, canvas photo prints and framed photos to be displayed on the casket during the service.

Dear Asha and Team,

When my son suicided it was the darkest time of my life. Your care, love and compassion helped to carry us through. You seemed to know exactly what we wanted and everything was handled with understanding and delicacy.

The service was a perfect tribute to his remarkable life. Your ability to accommodate our unusual requests (people signing the coffin and posting photo’s on it) meant that Sean received the farewell that I am sure he would have wanted.

Thank you all so much.

It was such an emotional time for us but your professionalism and compassion helped enormously.

I haven’t been through this process before but it wasn’t upsetting as both Julie and Jo gave us such support and nothing was too much trouble.

I would definitely recommend Grace Funerals after our experience.

The team at Grace Funerals, especially Asha and Tom, are wonderful people to work with. They provided professional, compassionate guidance through the funeral planning process, and my dad’s service was exactly how we envisioned. I would recommend Grace Funerals to anybody who finds themselves in the unfortunate position of needing to plan a funeral.

Not only were you all very patient but showed compassion in this difficult time. Tom we thank you and all your wonderful staff. The women looked so beautiful on the day and we were all touched at how everything fell into place. We think Dad would have been honoured.

The funeral service that you put together was absolutely perfect and was exactly what mum would have wanted. Please know that if I ever need a funeral director again you will be my first call.

Grace Funerals were professional, compassionate and showed immense understanding throughout the whole process of my grandmother’s funeral. They came highly recommended by our Bishop and entire church community – and know I know why! Their service was outstanding and they showed show much attention to detail. Asha went out of her way to make sure the funeral was as beautiful and memorable as our nan while also carefully considering our budget and highly unique needs. The facilities had a wonderful ambiance and the day felt intimate, warm and welcoming. We had several extenuating circumstances that could have proven extremely difficult and stressful but Asha and her team really took us by the hand and handled everything for us. We can’t thank you enough. I would never go anywhere else now! I can’t recommend you highly enough!
