What is a viewing and why is it important?

A viewing is private time for family and close friends to spend with your loved one. This is typically done with an open casket so that you can see and if you would like touch your loved one to say goodbye, however this can also be done with a closed casket if preferred.

A viewing can be a healing experience where the family says goodbye and see your loved one at peace. Whether your loved one has passed suddenly or it was expected, it has been shown that a viewing can help you process that they have passed and gives you the chance to say goodbye privately.

At Grace Funerals we have a chapel which allows you to have a viewing either individually or collectively depending upon your personal preference. Please discuss this option with your funeral consultant.
