MEET THE NEW PRESIDENT OF THE AFDA!

Grace Funerals are extremely proud to announce that our own Managing Director and Funeral Director, Asha Dooley, has been appointed to the role of President within the Australian Funeral Directors Association (AFDA).

This milestone marks a new chapter in Asha’s career, reflecting her commitment to excellence and her passion for supporting families during their most challenging times.

What is the Australian Funeral Director’s Association?

Formed in 1935, Australian Funeral Directors Association (AFDA) is the peak industry body with Member firms in every State and Territory. AFDA is a public company, limited by guarantee, that is administered by an elected Board with a National Office and six Divisional Offices.

AFDA Member firms are chosen by the majority of families to provide funeral arrangements for their loved ones. AFDA is widely recognised as the authoritative voice on all funeral matters and its key objective is to optimise the funeral experience and ensure quality delivery of service to the wider community by enhancing and promoting professional funeral standards.

Asha’s Career at Grace Funerals

Asha has been an integral part of Grace Funerals for over 15 years, consistently demonstrating her dedication to providing exceptional farewells that really capture what the family wants and needs during their time of grief. Her compassionate approach and unwavering commitment to helping families through their grief have earned her recognition and respect within the community. Asha’s journey with Grace Funerals has been marked by her ability to offer personalized care and support, ensuring that each family receives the attention and comfort they need.

New Role and Responsibilities

In her new role as President of the AFDA, Asha will be responsible for overseeing various initiatives, with a focus on revitalisation and innovation aimed at improving industry standards and supporting funeral directors across the state. This position will allow her to advocate for both clients and colleagues, ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained.

Impact on the Funeral Industry

Asha’s appointment to this prestigious position is a testament to her dedication and expertise. As President, she will play a crucial part in shaping the future direction of the funeral industry within Australia. Her focus on improving pricing transparency and advocating for the adoption of the rigorous standards to which AFDA members hold themselves, we hope, will bring greater consistency and accountability across the entire Australian funeral industry.
Asha’s colleagues, including Director Tom Dooley (yes, he’s also Asha’s Dad!), are all incredibly proud of her achievements and her new role within AFDA. Her leadership and dedication to providing exceptional service make her an invaluable asset to both Grace Funerals and the wider funeral industry. We look forward to seeing the positive changes and advancements that Asha will bring to her new position, and we are confident that she will continue to make a significant impact in her field.
